CHILD CARE AND HOME DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

The Childcare and Home Development Program is involved in home visits to our rural villages, teaching mothers about family planning, nutrition programs, hygiene, simple first aid and definitely the Word of God. There is a need for people in the villages to be sensitised on basic health skills.

This program seeks to improve the status and the quality of life of the children of Uganda and their families. The program is administered through Arise Africa staff in bi-weekly training sessions with participating mothers in designated communities. Through sensitization training, education, and projects these mothers are encouraged in practical methods for improving the livelihood of their own families, and in aspiring towards the training of other women in their immediate communities.

2003 -2004
Between 2003 - 2004 the program ministered to 2,647 women and children in five districts of Uganda namely Jinja, Mayuge, Kamuli, Iganga and Mukono. Our main focus and emphasis was on The importance of having sufficient food. Savings. Group and family projects. Community participation. The gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. The sensitization training and education given has not only helped the beneficiaries but numerous communities.

ACHIEVEMENTS
Priorities in these communities was given to food security and savings thus their was very little shortage of food in these communities. The women have been taught to share the word of God with their families as well as their communities. Among the women that have been reached with these programs, 90% are putting into practice what they have learned and are impacting numerous communities in their neighborhood.
